Method and system for automatically tracking face position and recognizing face

The present invention provides a method and a system for automatically tracking a face position and recognizing a face. The present invention can photograph a user, detect a face image of the user located at a predetermined position, and then change the photographing direction by moving a photographing unit so that the face image can be moved into a face authentication area in which optimal face recognition can be achieved. Therefore, the present invention enables recognition of a user's face without requiring movement of a user and thus can maximize the convenience of face recognition. Further, the present invention can store the number of matching times by which a corresponding face image in relation to face images pre-registered for face recognition matches a face image for authentication and is thus directly used for face authentication, and first compare a face image having the larger number of matching times with an image for authentication during a face matching process, thereby significantly improving a face recognition rate. In addition, the present invention can replace an image having the smaller number of matching times with a new face image on the basis of a regular time period and thus can adaptively and naturally reflect a face of a user, which changes according to the growth or aging of the user, in the face recognition.
