Coin screening mechanism and method

The invention provides a coin screening mechanism comprising a frame. A conveyer belt is installed on the frame. A coin arranging bar and a coin scraping bar are arranged over the conveyer belt. The distance between the coin scraping bar and the conveyer belt is a little greater than the thickness of a coin. Under the effect of the coin scraping bar, the coins are conveyed on the conveyer belt in a queue along the coin arranging bar. At the downstream of the coin arranging bar, a disc hairbrush is arranged over the conveyer belt and is driven by a driving device to rotate. The distance between the disc hairbrush and the conveyer belt is a little greater than the thickness of the coin. A coin eliminating channel is installed on the frame and is used for receiving coins eliminated by the disc hairbrush. The coin arranging bar preliminarily screens the coins and arranges the queue. The rotating disc hairbrush eliminates thick coins and warped and deformed coins. Thus, the coin screening mechanism prevents coin jam and omitted warped coin sorting, greatly reduces equipment failure rate, and increases sorting efficiency.
