Zusammenfassung:	The machine has an operating mode selector switch (1) determining laying and transport operating modes of the machine. A drive (2) i.e. linear drive, is connected with a functional component of the machine. The switch and the drive are connected to a control system (3). The control system automatically adjusts the drive from a transport position (5) to a laying position (4) when the switch determines the laying operating mode. The component is selected from a group consisting of a leveling cylinder, screed, spreading screw, material bunker and a moving gear strike-off element. An independent claim is also included for a method operating a construction machine.
