Method for producing a vehicle tyre

The invention relates to a method for producing a vehicle tyre, comprising the following steps: a) finishing a tyre carcass without side walls on a carcass drum, b) removing the tyre carcass from the carcass drum using a carcass transfer unit, c) moving the carcass transfer unit with the tyre carcass to a transfer position for the provision of two side walls, wherein the two side walls are arranged on both sides of the tyre carcass in an axial direction on respectively a separate first and second side wall drum, d) moving the first and second side wall drums towards the tyre carcass, wherein the side walls are arranged on the side wall drums coaxially in relation to the beads of the tyre carcass, e) expanding the first side wall drum with the first side wall, wherein the first side wall resting on the first side wall drum is connected to the tyre carcass in the region of the first bead by way of the expansion movement, and f) expanding the second side wall drum with the second side wall, wherein the second side wall resting on the second side wall drum is connected to the tyre carcass in the region of the second bead.
