MEDIUM INTAKE DEVICE AND MEDIUM TREATMENT DEVICE

A medium intake device is provided with: a housing open at the top and having formed therein a receiving space for receiving a medium taken therein; a mounting space provided within the housing at a position below the receiving space; a foreign matter receiver formed so as to be capable of being mounted in and dismounted from the mounting space, the foreign matter receiver having therein a foreign matter receiving space for receiving foreign matter; and a support body provided so as to form dropping holes, through which the foreign matter is dropped, in the upper face of the foreign matter receiver, the support body being configured so that, when the foreign matter receiver is mounted in the receiving space, the support body supports the medium located within the receiving space. The medium intake device is further provided with a moving body for moving the medium within the receiving space, along the bottom surface of the receiving space. The foreign matter receiver may be formed such that the upper surface portion of the support body is formed along the direction of movement of the moving body.
