Zusammenfassung:	The invention provides a gear and a transmission comprising such a gear. The invention relates to a gear (10; 110) with precisely two teeth (10a, 10b). The gear (10; 110) is mounted in a rotatable manner about a gear axis (12) and has a gear cross-sectional area on a sectional plane arranged orthogonally to the gear axis (12), said gear axis (12) crossing the geometric center of the cross-sectional area. The maximum extension (dmax) of the cross-sectional area in the region of the two teeth (10a, 10b) runs through the geometric center, the minimum extension (dmin) in the circumferential direction is offset in relation to the direction of maximum extension, and the outer contour of the cross-sectional area is formed in a convex manner over the entire circumference. The gear can be used in planetary gear trains or bevel gear trains for example.
