Oral care system

The invention provides an oral care system and method which includes: (i) an oral care composition effective to impart improved surface properties to teeth; and (ii) an assessment device packaged with the composition, the device including a graduated scale corresponding to a spectrum of surface roughness, in which regions of the scale may be compared with the tooth surface of the user to demonstrate a progressive improvement in tooth surface properties imparted by the composition. The invention enables the consumer to self evaluate efficacy of an oral care composition such as a remineralising dentifrice, using a low cost, simple self evaluation tool for measuring changes in tooth surface smoothness and texture.
