The water-based pigment color paste is composed of, by weight, 20.0-30.0 parts of pigment carbon black, 1.6-4.5 parts of wetting agent, 3.6-9.0 parts of dispersing agent, 0.1-0.2 part of defoaming agent, 8.0-16.0 parts of cosolvent, 1.0-2.0 parts of pH adjuster and 39.2-65.7 parts of deionized water. The water-based pigment color paste is simple in formula composition, convenient for industrialized production and capable of maintaining high viscosity stability and granularity stability under the circumstance of low viscosity, thixotropy of gel ink prepared by the water-based pigment color paste can be changed by adjusting proportion of wetting agent in a formula to obtain the gel ink different in thixotropy, and convenience is brought to the gel ink to be matched with different nips.
