Zusammenfassung:In the present invention, a signal resulting from a defect in a porous membrane is accurately differentiated from a detected signal; in particular, a defect in a porous hollow-fiber membrane is correctly detected. A defect-detection method for a device for detecting a defect in a porous hollow-fiber membrane, the method having: a measurement step for measuring, at a prescribed sampling cycle, a signal from a light-receiving unit; a separation step for separating the measured signal into a signal portion caused by air bubbles from a defect, and a noise signal portion; and an output step for outputting, as a result of the defect inspection on the porous hollow-fiber membrane, the signal portion caused by air bubbles.
