Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a side airbag for vehicles which contains an airbag filling gas medium by means of a gas generator, wherein the gas medium is guided in a flow direction from the gas generator to a gas opening through the airbag. The airbag contains a first chamber and a second chamber, wherein the second chamber is arranged at a downstream of the first chamber relative to the flow direction and the first chamber is configured to be opened via the opening towards the second chamber through the first gas. A flow deflector is provided for the deflection and delayed discharge of the gas medium from the airbag. The deflector covers the gas opening on the inside and opens lateral entry points of an opening axis relative to the gas opening.
