Compressor

The invention discloses a compressor which has reduced manufacturing costs and is more compact while avoiding decreasing the cooling capability achieved through circulation of a lubricating oil through a refrigeration circuit. This compressor is provided with: a compression unit (6, 14) which forms a compression chamber (18) for a work fluid which contains a lubricating oil; a housing (2) which forms a work fluid intake chamber between said housing (2) and the compression unit and which is provided with a work fluid discharge chamber (24) and a discharge port (48) which communicate via the intake chamber, the compression unit and the compression chamber, in order; a separation chamber (50) which, seen in the flow direction of the work fluid, is provided downstream of the discharge chamber and upstream of the discharge port, has a first recess (52) provided in the back surface (14a) of the compression unit and separates the lubricating oil from the work fluid; and a gasket (26) which is positioned between the back surface and the discharge port, creates a seal between the discharge chamber and outside air, and blocks the first recess to define the separation chamber.
