The invention discloses a commutator for converting a direct-insertion electronic element into a vertical surface mount element and a mounting structure thereof. The commutator comprises a commutator base in a hollow shape, copper foils in a shape like a Chinese character tu are fixedly arranged below the commutator base, the copper foils extend to the lower surface of the commutator base to form base welding pads, and the commutator base is internally provided with lead insertion holes electrically connected with the copper foils for enabling elements to be inserted. The direct-insertion electronic element can be converted to a surface mount structure, and the defect that the circuit is complicatedly designed due to mixed design of the direct-insertion element and the surface mount element can be solved.
