The preparation method comprises: mixing an olefin material and hydrogen to obtain a mixed material and performing isomerization-disproportionate catalytic reaction, wherein the olefin material is mixed C4 and/or ethylene, and hydrogen is 0.01-20% of total mass of the mixed materials; further separating products obtained through isomerization-disproportionate catalytic reaction to obtain propylene. The invention also provides equipment for preparing propylene, which comprises an isomerization-disproportionate reactor and a separator; the isomerization-disproportionate reactor is provided with a first charging port for charging the mixed materials and a first discharging port; the separator is provided with a second charging port and a product propylene outlet; the first discharging port is connected with the second charging port by a pipeline. The preparation method has mild reaction conditions, high reaction selectivity is realized by creatively adding hydrogen in raw materials, and the method has the effects of saving energy, reducing consumption, effectively inhibiting side reaction, and being environment environment-friendly in an operation process.
