Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a driving recording apparatus and a control method thereof. The driving recording apparatus comprises: a light sensing device for sensing user hand waving so as to generate a sensing signal; a master control module for receiving the sensing signal and generating a control signal when determining the sensing signal satisfies a predetermined condition; and an imaging module for receiving the control signal and shooting the photo of the current scene and/or recording video having a predetermined period based on the control signal. With the driving recording apparatus and the control method thereof of the present invention, the real-time hand waving shooting and video recording function is achieved, the user can conveniently operate, the risk that the user operates through the key or touch screen on the driving recording apparatus can be avoided, and the user can safely and comfortably drive.
