After the process of pruning the formed hedges and before the process of renewing and pruning the hedges, growth retardants are utilized for spraying hedge plants for 3 to 4 times in order to perform dwarf shaping operation in an auxiliary mode. Therefore, hedge plants can keep the original model substantially by partially replacing dwarf shaping operation by manual labor and are deep green in leaf color, thick and solid in new shoots, and increased in branches so that a comprehensive landscape effect is improved. Additionally, labor intensity is greatly decreased, energy and water are saved and an obvious economic effect is obtained.
