The invention provides a horizontal type rapid filter system used for purification of kitchen wastewater. The system is composed of an upper-end-opened water storage system, an upper-end-opened groove type purification system and an upper-end-opened tailwater collection system, wherein the water storage system successively communicates the groove type purification system and the tailwater collection system in a horizontal direction. The system in the invention occupies small land area, is suitable for purification of home kitchen wastewater, has good purification effect, and facilitates to reducing the amount of wastewater entering a septic tank, thereby increasing the concentration of nutrients in fecal wastewater of the septic tank and improving agricultural values of the fecal wastewater; thus, pollutant discharge is reduced, and cyclic utilization of resources is realized at the same time.
