Craniostat for acquiring extraoral dental radiographies

The invention discloses a craniostat for acquiring extraoral dental radiographies. The craniostat (20) for an extraoral dental radiographic apparatus (1) comprises an upper portion (21) connected to the lower portion (22) through two rods (23); the upper part in its turn comprising a crossbeam (104) and rests for patient's temples, wherein the rests for patient's temples are formed by two arches (107) articulated with said crossbeam (104); said arches (107) lean on patient's temple, blocking means of said arches being provided with control means of said blocking means, e.g. under the form of oscillating levers (135); the block occurs through shape friction generated by said blocking means at the moment of activation through said control levers. Moreover, a method of use of the craniostat is described.
