The invention relates to an application program managing method and system. The application program managing method includes the steps that a request for opening an application program is obtained; subprogram modules needing to be opened and the states of the subprogram modules needing to be opened are obtained according to the request for opening the application program; when the states of the subprogram modules needing to be opened are non-locking states, the application program is opened. According to the technical scheme, the application program is divided into multiple subprogram modules, before the application module is opened, the states of the subprogram module needing to be opened are determined first, and when the states of all the subprogram module needing to be opened are the non-locking states, the application program is opened. When the application program is opened, the subprogram modules already used by other application programs are prevented from being used, the dependence relation among the application programs is reduced, and then it is avoided that for application programs dependent on one another, other application programs are affected if one application program is closed.
