Zusammenfassung:	A shock absorber is provided with: a damping passage communicating between an extension-side chamber and a pressure-side chamber in a cylinder; a housing forming a pressure chamber; a free piston segregating the pressure chamber into an extension-side pressure chamber and a pressure-side pressure chamber; an extension-side passage communicating between the extension-side chamber and the extension-side pressure chamber; a pressure-side passage communicating between the pressure-side chamber and the pressure-side pressure chamber; a spring element for inhibiting displacement of the free piston; a cushion which, when the free piston is displaced, collides with the free piston and inhibits further displacement of the free piston; and a cushion-fixing member for holding the cushion.
