The audio and video vehicle data recorder comprises an FPGA control module, a video encoding and decoding module, an audio encoding and decoding module, a speed processing module, a digital switching value module, a data access module and a display module, wherein the video encoding and decoding module, the audio encoding and decoding module, the speed processing module and the digital switching value module transmit collected audio, video, speed and switching value data to the FPGA control module respectively; the FPGA control module performs internal processing and then the processed data is stored by the data access module; images and vehicle parameters are displayed through the display module. The audio and video vehicle data recorder can display images and vehicle parameters for bringing conveniences for drivers, meanwhile, the recorder can record audio, video and other driving data before and after accidents, so that the recorder can bring convenience for law-enforcing departments to analyze and process the accidents.
