An embodiment of the invention discloses a method for setting a working mode. The method comprises the steps of when a request to establish communication sent by a terminal is received, establishing a communication connection with the terminal according to the request to establish communication; and sending a command of setting the working mode to the terminal, so as to enable the terminal to set the working mode according to the command of setting the working mode. An embodiment of the invention also discloses a control terminal. Through adoption of the method and control terminal, the terminal can automatically set the working mode according to the command of setting the working mode, so that the user operation is simplified, and the user experience is improved.
