Preparation method and application of modified tobacco stem fibers

The invention discloses a preparation method and application of modified tobacco stem fibers. The preparation method of the modified tobacco stem fibers includes soaking tobacco stems in a water solution containing butanetetracarboxylic acid, citric acid or polymaleic acid, grinding the soaked tobacco stems into tobacco stem fibers by a disc grinder, and subjecting the obtained tobacco stem fibers to high-temperature steam treatment so as to obtain the modified tobacco stem fibers. The prepared modified tobacco stem fibers are high in strength and good in hydrophility and substitutes for original externally-added plant fibers to be used for preparing reconstituted tobacco by a slurry process, so that the prepared finished reconstituted tobacco is qualified in tensile strength and improved in smoking quality.
