A method for controlling a cloth of a sintering machine based on hydraulic servo belongs to the technical field of metallurgy and comprises a set value and a real-time value, wherein the set value is the thickness of the material layer of a sintering trolley which is set by a computer, the real-time value is the real thickness of the material layer which is measured by an in-situ radar thickness gauge and the comparison value is equal to the set value minus the real-time value; setting a forward or backward action of a hydraulic cylinder, increasing or reducing the opening of a feed gate in the five adjustment areas of 0.2mm, 0.5mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm or 1.5mm; and when the real-time value is larger than the set value, adjusting the backward action of the hydraulic cylinder according to the size of the comparison value and reducing the opening of the feed gate to be 0.2mm, 0.5mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm or 1.5mm. Measures including wide cycle sampling, single-direction grading ranging, advance compensation and timing compensation are taken, so as to timely, accurately and stably control the thickness of the material layer and improve the effect of the cloth.
