The thread pulling device comprises a first connecting plate and a second connecting plate which are connected through a connecting block, a first gear is connected to the first connecting plate, a second gear matched with the first gear is connected to the second connecting plate, a crank is connected to the second gear, the middle of the crank is connected with one end of the connecting rod, the other end of the connecting rod is connected to the connecting block through a bolt, and a through hole is formed in the first connecting block and is located below the first gear. The thread pulling device is simple in structure and convenient to manufacture, and the crank is driven by a transmission crank to achieve the thread pulling motion; as the motion amplitude of the crank is changed along with changes of the length of a thread pulled in the thread pulling motion, too tight thread pulling or too loose thread pulling occurring in the working process of the quilt sewing machine is effectively avoided, thread breakage is reduced, and the working efficiency of the quilt sewing machine is improved.
