Tape cassette

The present invention discloses a tape cassette. The tape cassette includes: a cassette casing which has a top surface, a bottom surface, a front surface and a pair of side surfaces, and also a top case with a top surface and a bottom case with a bottom surface; a tape which is mounted inside the cassette casing as printing medium; a butt portion which includes a portion of the front surface and guides the tape to move towards an exit along a portion of a preset feed path, part of the preset feed path and the front surface extending in parallel; a latching portion which is arranged in the vicinity of the upstream in the feed direction of the tap of the butt portion, the top case and the bottom case engaging via the latching portion; a contact portio which is arranged near the exit and is configured to allow contact or separation between the top case the bottom case. The contact portion includes: an aperture arranged inside the bottom case; a protrusion arranged in the top case and may be inserted to the aperture or be removed from the aperture. The tap cassette is capable of solving the problem of clearance generated between the top case the bottom case near the exit so as to ensure excellent printing quality.
