Zusammenfassung: | By synthesizing a monoazo compound by diazotization-coupling, forming the monoazo compound into an iron complex by using an ironizing agent such as ferric chloride, and generating an azo-iron complex compound indicated by formula (in the formula, p is an integer between 0 and 4, q and s are integers between 0 and 5, R1-R3 are each substituent groups of an alkyl group, etc., and A+ is a cation), this production method produces a charge control agent having as the effective component thereof an azo-iron complex compound, and is characterized by maintaining a pH of 7.0-8.0 while performing the ironizing reaction on the monoazo compound. As a result of this method, the azo-iron complex compound can be obtained at a high yield and at a high purity. Therefore same can be used, as is, as a charge control agent; special refining steps, etc., can be omitted; and the production costs therefor can be greatly reduced. |
