The piston ring sprayed coating is obtained by spraying a powdered composition onto the outer peripheral sliding surface of a piston ring base material, the powdered composition contains molybdenum particles, nickel-chrome alloy particles, and chromium carbide particles, and the median size of the chromium carbide particles is 5-25 [mu]m.
