The invention embodiment provides an electrical device fault monitoring system and a fault monitoring method; the electrical device fault monitoring system is applied to a transformer station, and comprises an intelligent temperature sensing device, a remote processor and an alarm terminal; the intelligent temperature sensing device is connected with the remote processor through a remote communication mode; the remote processor is connected with the alarm terminal; the intelligent temperature sensing device absorbs and is fixed on a connector of the electrical device, and used for collecting a temperature signal of the connector at a preset first time interval, and sending the temperature signal to the remote processor; the remote processor is used for determining whether the temperature signal is bigger than a preset first threshold or not, if yes, the processor will send an alarm signal to the alarm terminal; the alarm terminal is used for sounding and alarming when the alarm signal is received.
