Sorting machine and operation method thereof

The invention discloses a sorting machine and an operation method thereof, wherein the sorting machine comprises: a first crystal placing bench, a second crystal placing bench, at least one sorting bracket taking and placing device, a crystal taking bench, a sorting arm, a moving mechanism and a controller. The crystal taking bench is used for placing a wafer loading member with a plurality of crystal grains arranged thereon. The controller controls the sorting bracket taking and placing device to place at least one first crystal grain sorting bracket and at least one second crystal grain sorting bracket respectively on the first crystal placing bench and the second crystal placing bench. The controller controls the moving mechanism to move the first crystal placing bench to a sorting zone. When the crystal grains belong to a first group is uniformly sorted onto the first crystal grain sorting bracket, the controller controls the moving mechanism to move the first crystal placing bench out from the sorting zone, and then or at least partially synchronously, controls the moving mechanism to move the second crystal placing bench into the sorting zone so that the sorting arm sorts the crystal grains belonging to a second group onto the second crystal grain sorting bracket.
