Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a seat belt tensioner (10) for a vehicle passenger restraint system comprising a pipe (12) carrying gas in the event of deployment and an ignition unit (14) arranged in the pipe (12), which ignition unit (14) is inserted into an open front face (16) of the pipe (12) and comprising a base (18), and a cap (20) fastened to the base (18) for accommodating a drive propelling charge, wherein the cap (20) is arranged at least in part inside the pipe. The ignition unit (14) is welded to the pipe (12).
