Combined light and electric interface

The invention provides a combined light and electric interface. The capacity of electric interfaces and/or the capacity of light interfaces can be provided by connecting ports of the combined light and electric interface. The connecting ports can comprise light engines for light communication owing to combined electric and light interface ports. The connecting ports further comprise connector shells, electric interface assemblies and light interface assemblies which are combined with one another. One type of light engine for light communication comprises a laser diode, a photodiode and a light integrated circuit (IC), each laser diode is used for generating light signals, each photodiode is used for receiving the light signals, and each light integrated circuit (IC) is used for controlling the light interfaces.
