Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a preparation method of a sol for preparing a coating. The method comprises the following steps: dissolving a salt containing the yttrium element in a solvent capable of dissolving the salt containing the yttrium element and then evenly mixing with a surfactant, and contacting with an alkaline substance capable of forming a precipitate with the salt containing the yttrium element, thereby obtaining a sol containing yttrium hydroxide. The invention also relates to a preparation method of a coating, and the coating prepared by use of the method. The coating is prepared by use of the sol prepared by use of the method, and the mean particle size of the yttrium oxide particles in the coating can be smaller than 1 micron; as a result, the obtained coating containing the yttrium oxide is more resistant to corrosion, and not easy to crack and peel.
