Zusammenfassung:	The present invention refers to an Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) for an aircraft with reduced weight, but which at the same time meets all fire-related airworthiness standards. The auxiliary power unit (5) of the invention, comprises a metallic housing (21) having mounts (2) for attaching the housing (21) to an external structure, wherein the auxiliary power unit (5) further comprises at least one temperature sensor (3) suitable for detecting temperature under fire conditions, wherein said temperature sensor (3) is coupled with said mounts (2) for sensing temperature at the housing (21).
