Zusammenfassung:	A process for the preparation of a titanium-based catalyst active in epoxidation reactions, which process comprises the steps of: (a) impregnating a silica carrier with a liquid solution of a titanium compound in an inorganic solvent system, to form an impregnated silica carrier bearing the solution of the titanium compound; (b) drying the impregnated silica carrier obtained in step (a); (c) calcining the product obtained in step (b) at a temperature of at most 750 DEG C.; and (d) silylating the product obtained in step (c), to give a titanium-based catalyst active in epoxidation reactions.
