Zusammenfassung: | A turbocharger (100) for an internal combustion engine (20). The turbocharger comprises a housing and one or more bearings. The housing comprises one or more coolant passages for receiving a coolant to cool the turbocharger, and one or more lubricant passages for receiving a lubricant to lubricate the bearings. The lubricant is for both the turbocharger bearings and the internal combustion engine. The coolant and lubricant passages are arranged in the housing to transfer heat from the lubricant in the lubricant passages to the coolant in the coolant passages. The coolant and lubricant passages are configured such that the transfer of heat between the two is sufficient to cool the lubricant and maintain it at a temperature that is suitable for subsequent use in the internal combustion engine. Temperature and/or flow rate sensors may be provided to monitor the temperature and/or flow rate of the lubricant and/or coolant. A controller may control the turbocharger in response to the temperature and/or flow rate. |
