The invention provides environment-friendly modified asphalt and a preparation method thereof. The modified asphalt is prepared from the following constituents in parts by weight: 100 parts of asphalt, 3-10 parts of forsterite powder coating, 1-5 parts of yttrium aluminum garnet fiber, 1-5 parts of styrene-acrylic resin, 0.5-2.2 parts of dibenzalacetone, 0.2-1.4 parts of hydroquinone, and 2-7 parts of polyisobutylene succinimide. The environment-friendly modified asphalt disclosed by the invention can obviously improve the pavement performance of the asphalt, further has multiple environment effects of flame retarding, smoke suppression, hot mixing and emission reduction, meets the low-carbon, environment-protecting, safe and reliable green transport construction requirements, and promotes sustainable development of the society; the raw materials are wide in sources; the production preparation process is free from pollution; the good economic benefit can be achieved.
