The invention discloses a system and a method for recommending friends. The system for recommending the friends comprises a server, a terminal A, a terminal B and a terminal C. The terminal A is used for disclosing contents; the terminal B is used for forwarding the contents disclosed by the terminal A or commenting on the contents disclosed by the terminal A; the terminal C is used for forwarding the contents disclosed by the terminal A or forwarding comments of the terminal B or commenting on the comments of the terminal B; the server is used for recommending the terminal C to the terminal A as a friend relation. The system and the method for recommending the friends have the advantages that the recommending effectiveness and real-time performance can be improved; recommend information is no longer repeatedly prompted by the system once the recommend information is selected by users, accordingly, computing and running resources required by the system can be reduced, and the experience can be improved for the users; certain friends are no longer repeatedly recommended by the system once the users select not to add the certain recommended friends, accordingly, the computing and running resources required by the system can be reduced, and the users can be prevented from being harassed by the system when using the system.
