Disc brake

The invention provides a disc brake. A return spring (21) configured from a metallic plate and pressing a friction pad (6) in the return direction in which the friction pad (6) is moved away from a disc (1) is provided between the friction pad (6) and a mounting member (2). The return spring (21) is affixed at the affixation section (22) thereof to the ear section (7B) of the back plate (7) of the friction pad (6), the affixation section (22) being the base end-side part of the return spring (21). The contact section (25) of the return spring (21), the contact section (25) being the front end-side part of the return spring (21), is in elastic contact with the contact plate section (13D) of a pad spring (13) at a position on the outside of the affixation section (22) in the radial direction of the disc, the contact plate section (13D) being the mounting member (2)-side part of the pad spring (13). As a result of this configuration, moment (M) acts on the ear section (7B) of the back plate (7) of the friction pad (6), and the moment (M) tilts the attitude of the friction pad (6) in the direction in which the outer side of the friction pad (6) in the radial direction is farther from the disc (1) than the inner side of the friction pad (6) in the radial direction.
