The invention discloses a display control method and electronic equipment. The method comprises the following steps: monitoring current state parameters of electronic equipment; controlling the electronic equipment to enter a first display mode when the state parameters meet a first condition, wherein the first display mode can control a display unit to display first output content and second output content corresponding to the first output content; or else, controlling the electronic equipment to enter a second display mode, wherein the second display mode can control the display unit to display the first output content. Whether the second output content is played or not is determined by monitoring the state parameters of the electronic equipment in the process of playing the first output content on the display unit, so that the condition that the second output content is only displayed at a specific moment is ensured; the condition of lastingly shielding the first output content is avoided; and the viewing experience of a user is improved.
