Zusammenfassung:A switch (10) activates a data protection mode for an electronic device (20) configured to send data stored on the electronic device (20). The switch (10) has an interface (12) for coupling the switch (10) to the electronic device (20). The switch is configured to send a signal (13) to the electronic device (20) upon mechanical operation by a user to activate the data protection mode. The switch may be used to activate the data protection mode to deactivate the transmission of personal data. Furthermore, the electronic device provided with the switch and a corresponding method are disclosed.
