The invention relates to a method for monitoring a paraffin body, a waxing apparatus and a work station of a textile machine. The method for monitoring the paraffin body is used for monitoring the paraffin body of the waxing apparatus during a waxing process of a yarn travelling along the yarn path of the work station of the textile machine for producing a cross winding bobbin. According to the method, a sensing element and a switching element detected by the sensing element can be guided in a manner of overlap to each other based on a consumption status of the paraffin body, and the consumption status of the paraffin body, gradually decreasing due to contact with the yarn, is detected by the sensing element and the switching element in a close sensing manner. According to the invention, the consumption status of the paraffin body (18) is determined by an overlap ratio of the detecting elements (42, 43) and detecting time obtained from the overlap ratio, wherein the detecting time is obtained according to a corresponding position and geometrical shapes of the detecting elements (42, 43).
