Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to an ethylene oligomerization catalyst composition. The catalyst composition is composed of a ligand containing heteroatom (a), a transition metal compound (b), and an organic metal compound activator (c); wherein the mole ratio of (a) to (b) to (c) is 1:0.5-100:0.1-5000, the ligand containing heteroatom (a) is represented by a formula (I) shown in the description, and the R1, R2, R3, and R4 can be the same or different, and represent a hydrogen atom, a straight chain alkyl group/branched alkyl group, a monocyclic or polycyclic aryl group and derivatives thereof, or a halogen atom. The catalyst composition is used to catalyze ethylene oligomerization reactions for preparation of linear alpha-ethylene, the catalytic activity is greater than 4.63*10 g ethylene.molCr.h, the percentage mass content of linear alpha-alkene with a carbon number of 6 to 10 is larger than 55%, and the selectivity of the linear alpha-alkene is larger than 98%.
