Zusammenfassung:	A piston for an internal combustion engine is provided. A piston skirt portion is configured to in sliding contact with an air cylinder at the lower part of a piston head portion. A piston side wall is provided in the skirt portion. A piston pin hole is formed in the piston side wall. The outer circumference of the piston skirt portion is configured to be a portion in a following elliptical shape: the short aixs of the elliptical shape is in the direction of the axis of the piston pin hole, and the long aixs is in the direction orthogonal to the direction of the axis of the piston pin hole. Two ends, connecting the piston side wall, of a the piston skirt portion re provided with the first thin-wall parts, and the first thin-wall parts extend upward from the lower end of the piston skirt portion and are configured at the lower part of the axis of the piston pin hole.
