Rotating electric machine and method for manufacturing same

Provided is a rotating electric machine for which the coil ends are reduced in size. This rotating electric machine is equipped with: a stator (130), which has a stator core (132) in which multiple slots (420) are arranged in the circumferential direction, and a stator coil (138) inserted into the slots of the stator core; and a rotor (150), which is arranged so as to be capable of rotation, with a gap between the stator core and the rotor. The rotating electric machine is constructed such that the stator coil is formed by connecting multiple segment coils (28) formed of conductors having a rectangular cross section and formed substantially in a U-shape, with the segment coils having connecting parts (800) at their ends for connecting to the other segment coils, and the connecting parts having angular parts (810).
