Startup detection system and method for computer

The invention discloses a startup detection system and a startup detection method for a computer. The computer comprises an SPI ROM chip and an SIO controller, wherein a BIOS startup block and a BIOS program are stored in the SPI ROM chip; a standby BIOS startup block is stored in the SIO controller. The system comprises an initialization module, a BIOS detection module and an exception handling module, wherein the initialization module is used for initializing the standby BIOS startup block in the SIO controller when a user presses down a startup button of the computer for electrification; the BIOS detection module is used for checking whether the BIOS startup block in the SPI ROM chip is damaged or not; the exception handling module is used for guiding the BIOS program to perform startup self-checking on the computer by utilizing the standby BIOS startup block in the SIO controller when the BIOS startup block in the SPI ROM chip is damaged, so that the computer is normally started up.
