According to the method, Fadh genes are transferred to sweet wormwood herb through a plant expression vector, and the sweet wormwood herb capable of absorbing a high-content formaldehyde is obtained by screening. The method comprises the following specific steps: cloning Fadh genes from pseudomonas putida, establishing the plant expression vector containing a Fadh gene, transferring the Fadh genes to the sweet wormwood herb through an agrobacterium mediation method, and cultivating and screening regenerated plants to obtain transgene sweet wormwood herb capable of absorbing high-content formaldehyde. When the content of formaldehyde dehydrogenase in general sweet wormwood herb is 6.30mg/g, the content of formaldehyde dehydrogenase in the transgene sweet wormwood herb obtained by the invention is 19.80mg/g, and the formaldehyde absorption content of the transgene sweet wormwood herb is 2.25 times larger than that of non-transformed control sweet wormwood herb.
