The log collection device comprises a log monitoring module and a data transmission service module, wherein the log monitoring module is used for monitoring log files of a plurality of application systems on a current server, determining newly added records of each log file and storing each log file and the newly added records; the data transmission service module is used for performing cross-network transmission on the newly added records to guide a Hadoop distributed file system function of a cloud platform and/or performing cross-network transmission on the log files to be stored according to needs to guide the Hadoop distributed file system function of the cloud platform. According to the device and the method, real-time requirements are met, the transmission of junk data can be avoided, and the defects that breakpoint resuming cannot be carried out in time and data are lost in the prior art are overcome.
