Flotation system and method for separating ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) and HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene)

The invention belongs to the flotation field, and in particular relates to flotation system and method for separating ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) and HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene). The flotation method comprises the steps of mixing a mixture prepared from ABS and HIS and a flotation system; performing flotation to obtain a floating substance that is HIPS and deposited substance that is ABS; the flotation system is prepared from the following components in percentage by weight: 0.001 to 0.1wt% of wetting agent, 0.001 to 0.01wt% of foaming agent, 10 to 30wt% of C1-C12 alcohol, and the balance of water. According to the flotation method, the flotation system containing the wetting agent, the foaming agent and C1-C12 alcohol is used for performing flotation the mixture of ABS and HIPS; the floating substance and the deposited substance separated by flotation are both high in recovery rate and purity; the experiment result shows that the flotation method used for selecting ABS and HIPS has the advantages that the recovery rate of the floating substance that is HIPS is more than 60% and the purity is more than 95%, and while the recovery rate of the deposited substance that is ABS is more than 95% and the purity is more than 70%.
