The invention discloses an automatic voltage regulating device which comprises a voltage transformer, a first current transformer, a magnetic controllable reactor control unit, a first controller and a fixed reactive compensation device. The magnetic controllable reactor control unit comprises a magnetic controllable reactor, a second current transformer and a second controller. The second controller is used for controlling the conducting states of two silicon controlled rectifiers in the magnetic controllable reactor control unit according to current signals sent by the second current transformer and control angle signals sent by the first controller, and therefore the reactive power of circuits is regulated. The automatic voltage regulating device achieves the dynamic stepless regulation of reactive capacity, capacitors do not need to be switched, and the capacity regulating range is wide.
