Portable Monitoring Devices and Methods of Operating Same

In one aspect of embodiments, a device comprises one or more motion sensor for sensing motion of the device and providing activity data of the sensed motion. The device also comprises one or more feedback device used for providing a user with feedback, notification or indication based on the monitoring. The device also includes a processor for monitoring the activity data, determining one or more activity measurement based on the activity data and allowing one or more of the feedback device to generate an indication that the user achieves an activity objective based on one or more of the activity measurement. The device further comprises a portable shell enclosing the motion sensor, the processor and at least one part of the feedback device.
